Fission Defy Factory Misprint

The Defy is a straight-stable 21.5mm distance driver from Axiom Discs. The Defy is straight with a nice bite of overstability at the end, and is best described as a heavily seasoned MVP Photon or a longer Axiom Crave. Like the Crave the Defy exhibits remarkable resistance to turnover even at high power.

As a 21.5mm class GYRO™ driver, the Defy is designed to hit a midpoint of stability between two MVP Disc Sports models, the Photon and Wave. The Defy will debut in grippy opaque dual-color Neutron plastic.

A good rule of thumb is that Fission, especially in drivers, adds an extra 10g to perceived weight - making a 165g driver fly like you'd expect a 175g one to, only with added distance from being a lighter disc. This leads to lighter Fission discs maintaining the stability of their heavier counterparts, so consider trying out a lighter disc than you might normally.

Fission Microbubble Technology produces an ultralight core with evenly distributed and imperceptible weight reduction microbubbles. The ultralight core allows an even higher GYRO overmold density relative to the core, yet still remaining in the lighter weight classes. This produces an entirely new type of lightweight disc never before seen in the sport, and beyond the capability of any other manufacturer. Weight distribution, stability, and durability of prior bubble discs are all improved upon by Fission. Skeptics of prior light or bubble plastics are in for a surprise, as Fission brings advanced disc physics and true high-tech molding into the lightweight plastics arena.

Axiom Discs are manufactured using the same technology and in the same factory as MVP Disc Sports’ discs. The rims of Axiom Discs' discs come in different colors, distinguishing them from MVP discs. Axiom Discs' discs are made from two different plastics, branded as the Gyro technology. The purpose of a dual-plastic disc is to shift the weight of the disc to the outer edge, increasing the amount of spin and providing a slight stability boost.

Axiom Discs' premium plastic blends include Neutron, Plasma, Proton, Eclipse, Fission, and R2-Neutron. Grippier and faster-wearing base plastics include Electron Soft, Electron, and Electron Firm.

The numbers that usually appear on the top of the disc indicate the flight characteristics of the disc. The most commonly used way to tell the flight characteristics is to use four numbers: speed, glide, stability and fade.

Disc golf discs usually weigh between 140 and 180 grams. The lighter the disc, the less stable it is. Conversely, the heavier the disc, the more overstable it behaves.
